There are a few things on sites that don’t really require much design, like pagination, for example. Things that just work, without you having to re-invent the wheel. For those things - it’s always good to have a little bit of a guide. The same goes (to an extent) for comment designs and standardised icons.

I’ve been posting a lot about Firefox and browser issues, and I guess that stems a lot from my recent troubles with cross-browser compatability. I’ve been designing and developing forms a lot recently, which is a complete mine-field of CSS bugs and browser issues. I’ve been learning though, and that can only be a good thing - right? (more…)

Somehow, it tooks me until Episode 5 to discover the Rissington Podcasts. A brilliantly funny show by John Oxton and Jon Hicks (of Firefox fame). So if you can put up with the famer accents - this one’s definitely worth a listen!

I’ve just been bought a book (thanks Jim) by Luke Wroblewski all about form design. The book explores all elements of form design and good practice, and even has a Flickr group to it’s name! Absolutely invaluable tool for web designers!

Although not new to ‘Future of Web Design’ - I am new to the MP3’s on their site. As much as I’d love to attend one of their events, I’m not sure I can really afford the rediculous price it costs (hint hint). So fortunatly for me, the site has a selection of MP3’s from their last event. I’ve been listening to them this week - and they’re fantastic! Especially those by Ryan Singer from 37Signals. Worth downloading.
