Stripping a man completely naked.. well, not quite.
This morning I was sent two articles about Progressive Web Enhancement (yeah, I know) - and found myself reciting my learnings in a client meeting this afternoon. So I thought I’d share.. (more…)

Webwithoutwords is a ‘visual playground’ where, every week, Paul takes a popular and known website and reconstructs it by removing all words and images, replacing them with blocks.
Very cool… your client’s will never understand it!
For the past 11 weeks I’ve been developing the information architecture for a large multi-national website. Since embarking on this impossibly large project, I’ve notice that people’s understanding of where information architecture ends, and design begins, is often wrong. So let’s set the record straight..
Sorry for all the quotes recently, I’ve been completely stacked out with an information architecture document I’m working on. Which ties me quite nicely to this quote;

If you’re interested in information architecture, or just find yourself thust into its scary world (like me), you might find Boxes and Arrows or Jesse James Garrett’s site useful.
I’m currently venturing into the bleak, scary and un-designed world of information architecture. I use this site when looking at sitemaps – it’s a pretty good guide to the visual language you should be using.

Oh my god - what!?
Still… it’s all a little bit pointless when your project managers can’t explain to your client the difference between a page, and a template!
