I doubt I’m the only person today blogging about Google Chrome - but I unfortunately don’t share the same enthusiasm as most.For one, Google released this ‘revolutionary’ browser today for PC only. Er, it’s not the 90’s Google - people have Mac’s now. And because I’m a mac user, I had to get Johan to send me a screengrab of the browser - out of a genuine interest in the product. (more…)

Future of Advertising

On Mon 18 August (Permalink, No Comments)I flashed up my computer at home to do a little bit of advertising work, promoting a new online service. Whilst my applications were loading up I logged into Facebook for my quick fix and saw this…
Cheeky! They’ve taken the Facebook button style, colours and font treatment to create something that actually looks like it’s part of the Facebook application!
Has web advertising really come to this? Do we really have to design banners in such a way as to trick users into clicking them? Surely you can’t just con visitors into a sale or conversion?!

Outsourcing? Think again!

On Wed 23 July (Permalink, No Comments)I think that the more technical outsourcing an agency does, the more their service fails. And eventually they’ll end up losing out for it.
A quote from developer, David Walsh. This is something I’m seeing more and more recently - and it’s causing some real big issues. If outsourcing development work (usually back-end) to India is cheaper, it’s probably because the service and end product you receive is far far worse. (more…)
