Introducing Previews App 20.03.09
I’m extremely happy to announce the launch of my own webapp, Previews. It’s a simple and friendly application that allows designers (regardless of web knowlege) to showcase website concepts online!
The Problem: You spend weeks designing concepts for a webisite, then you present them to the client in PowerPoint or printed out. The result is either the client doesn’t get it, the colours are off, or they ask about the ’safe area’.The Solution: Show them the website where it belongs, online! The main benefit is that your client gets to see their website in their own browser!
Features
The application enables designers to upload their design (as JPG’s), along with a background image (or colour) within a “designer-proof” environment. No HTML skills are neccessary!
The designer is then able to move their Previewed websites into ‘Groups’, which are visible to the client. You can even add a note to a group, should you need to.
When you group previewed website’s together, the application automatically overlays your designs with an unobtrusive ‘Back’ and ‘Next’ panel – so your client can easily navigate through your designs. You can even use your keyboard arrows to navigate through!
Security is key – that’s why the entire application is secured by login. Whilst you are able to log in, create and delete as you wish, your client will only be able to see the Groups you show them!Extras

• Groups generate TinyURL’s for your client
• Customize the application with your company’s logo
• Full customization of user settings (nickname etc)
• Attach files to your previews (PSDs, PDFs or ZIP files for example)

Cheers Paul – I’ll be launching this in the next week or so, but hopefully I’ll get a trial version online soon for you to play with. The good news is that it’ll be free and opensource for anyone to use
