Weekly Review 9 20.10.08
13th – 19th October, 2008
Every year around mid-November, early December – my freelance workload starts to get hectic with all my clients wanting e-cards and last minute mini-sites and New Years launches. So seeing as this year I’m away for the entire Christmas period, I was looking forward to the break. But… it seems my busy period has come early! So for the past week, I’ve been a bit manic…
- Have worked simultaneously on four freelance jobs, covering several disciplines including PHP development, web design and brand design. but in all, it’s been a successful week!
- Finished building a ‘form’ for a charity – which has taught me a thing or two about PHP, as well as how to cost jobs. I agreed a flat, unconditional cost to build “a form” several months ago. However, the form turned out to be a 200 input, multi choice, all singing all dancing questionnaire. So I’ve lost several thousand pounds in time, but have made up for it in my own personal development.
- Started talks with an exciting new client, which in the first stage will involve some cool branding.
- Designed a concept for a sweet little social media site that I foresee being quite popular. We’ll see how that goes – hopefully they’ll like my development work!
- Finally, went to Bath at the weekend and saw The Bath Pigs which included Typigraphy and Pigabyte, amongst many.
So this week I’m looking at finishing up a couple of projects, working on Project Bubble, and winding down my freelance schedule in lieu of my December holidays!
