Weekly Review 8 13.10.08
6th – 12th October, 2008
In the middle of last week I got my credit card bill from my week in LA – which was shocking to say the least! So I’ve stepped up my freelancing slightly, so I’m back to my busy schedule! Anyway, amongst my goings on, I managed to fit all this into last week…- I’m very proud that I’ve managed to complete my own little PHP/MySQL webapp that I can use for my freelance web projects! It’s basically my own version of CodedPreview, but has a few snazzy tweaks. I started the project a while back, but it’s taken me until now to put some extra jazz into it (front-end, database driven, ability to delete old projects etc). See some screenshots below:

- I’ve been working with Stu on Project Bubble. We’re at a point now where we’re soft launching the application, on which I’m going to design a kick-ass interface. We both had so many ideas about functionality etc that we decided coding the app and then designing it would work best. This is going to be awesome when it’s done!
- Found out this week that after 5 years of Search Engine Optimization on my website, I’ve managed to make it to #2 in Google for the term digital designer. That’s quite something… considering I’m beaten only by Lego!
- Started a new design job that requires me to design PowerPoint slides. I hate PowerPoint… but I can’t hide from the fact that every non-designer thinks it’s the best thing ever.
- Finally spent the weekend in Weymouth – which was actually quite nice!
There was also a bunch of freelance jobs I did last week that I obviously can’t talk about here… but hopefully we’ll start seeing some launches by December/January that I can gloat about
