Weekly Review 7 06.10.08
29th September – 5th October, 2008Holy crap… it’s October! How did that happen?! Oh well, I have a tan now – seeing as I spent the whole of last week in California! So this weekly review isn’t about web design, more about my random trip – so read on if you’re interested…
On Friday 26th, I’d made a decision to go to see some friends of mine in Turkey – but when it came to booking the trip, I found that I was too late, and all the flights had been taken… so that evening I went out for a few beers instead.
After 3 or 4 beers I returned home at 1am and decided it would be a good idea to go on British Airways… and promptly proceeded to buy a ticket to LAX, departing just 9 hours later. So that’s what I did… I went to LA, for no reason, and with no agenda…. for 9 days!
I ended up hiring a car (see a photo) and driving from LA to San Francisco via Hollywood (photo), Santa Monica (photo), Malibu for a surf (photo) and Alcatraz (photo). Had an absolutely amazing time, meeting a whole bunch of cool people on the way!
Was nice to get away from the crazy amount of work I’ve been doing, whilst also enjoying my own company… which is a rare thing when living in London. Was a compeletly random, impulse thing – but the trip of a lifetime!
