There are two web applications that I’ve been using a lot recently which I want to tell you about. The first is something called Coded Preview. It’s a very simple (and free) application which enables you to upload a flat website concept, and display it centered, tiled, with a background or whatever - all on a private address.
I get annoyed by agencies and clients alike, printing out websites, then commenting on the contrast, or colours (websites are for on screen!!) - so this is perfect for me! Although I’m considering building my own which I can host privately, and password protect. Perhaps another time though!
The other application is the less attractive IE Net Renderer - which “allows you to check how a website is rendered by Internet Explorer 7, 6 or 5.5, as seen from a high speed data center located in Germany”. So basically it does the same as BrowserShots.org - but so much faster.
Give them both a try - they’re fantastic!!
