There are a few things on sites that don’t really require much design, like pagination, for example. Things that just work, without you having to re-invent the wheel. For those things - it’s always good to have a little bit of a guide. The same goes (to an extent) for comment designs and standardised icons.
A recent article from Smashing Magazine about pagination, which I thought was quite nice. In addition to this, I’ve got a few resources I use quite frequently…
Of course, you could just go to Smashing Magazine or Designers Toolbox to get every resource under the sun, but if you’re going for originality - this might not be such a good idea!
