Resources I Use 23.06.08
There are a few things on sites that don’t really require much design, like pagination, for example. Things that just work, without you having to re-invent the wheel. For those things – it’s always good to have a little bit of a guide. The same goes (to an extent) for comment designs and standardised icons.
A recent article from Smashing Magazine about pagination, which I thought was quite nice. In addition to this, I’ve got a few resources I use quite frequently…- 300 Images has a bunch of common icons for checkouts, posts etc
- Grab web browser elements, save you re-drawing inputs etc
- Example footers, and some more
- Designing comments for blogs etc (a lot of these are rubbish)
Of course, you could just go to Smashing Magazine or Designers Toolbox to get every resource under the sun, but if you’re going for originality – this might not be such a good idea!
