I registered for this a while back, but completely forgot about it until now;
A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?
Seems like a good idea to me, a little picture of yourself will follow you around the internet (based on your email address). You can see mine here. I’m only worried about having loads of calls to the Gravatar database, anyone know how this affects speed?
